Our Story
After spending many years in the live entertainment industry, we couldn’t overlook the inefficiencies that were impeding progress. Particularly in the aftermath of the pandemic, the industry has suffered from inadequate crews, high turnover rates, and limited opportunities for growth among the influx of newcomers. Without efficient training tools, both workers and employers were struggling. This inspired us to take matters into our own hands with the inception of our grassroots initiative, driven by a passion for the industry and empowering the next generation of stagehands.
Starting with the Stagehand 101 course, we developed our own training materials and shared them with eager newcomers we encountered. The response was overwhelming, garnering support from countless individuals across the production industry. Thus, our project was born – a commitment to tackling the obstacles faced by employers and fostering a community dedicated to the growth and success of production workers.
Our Mission
At Stage Right Crew, we believe that the success of a stagehand is crucial in building and sustaining a skilled workforce. We aim to attract the right people into the industry and provide them with the tools for success. Our approach focuses on fostering a community and unlocking opportunities for learning. By addressing the unique challenges faced by workers and employers in the industry, we strive to take the lead in raising the standard for quality and safety among stagehands nationwide. As individuals learn in a culture of excellence, we will foster a skilled workforce dedicated to the essential role in creating spectacular shows.
